bmp --  Bitmap; a kind of image file

browser -- software program that can "look at" or "browse" internet files

data transfer rate -- how fast a page "loads"

domain --  the area where a page "lives" on the web

download -- bring a file DOWN to your machine for viewing or use

editor -- software program that can create or change a document or file

GIF --  Graphics Interchange Format; a kind of image file (can be animated or transparent)

host (also server) -- the service that stores your files and makes them available for viewing

HTML -- Hypertext markup language; the "code" that makes web pages appear on the Internet

JPEG or JPEG -- a kind of image file (lots of times photos are jpgs)

link -- a "clickable" area on an internet document that "links" to another area of the page or Web
